Staff Attorney
Prior to joining CAIR Coalition, Adan worked as an assistant public defender for the Office of the Public Defender for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida, where he represented indigent defendants facing trial in misdemeanor cases and those convicted of a crime in parole and probation hearings. Adan also worked as a consultant, where he provided strategic guidance, supervision, and support in areas relating to criminal justice, labor and employment, and immigration.
During law school, as a student attorney for the Criminal Defense and Prisoner Advocacy Clinic, a law clerk at the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia, and the Office of the Clark County Public Defender in Las Vegas, Adan represented D.C. prisoners and individuals seeking to seal their criminal records. He also taught legal research and writing to people serving long-term sentences at Jessup Correctional Institution and engaged in impact litigation relating to issues at the intersection of immigration and criminal justice reform.
Adan served as a researcher at UCLA’s Institute for Research on Labor and Employment and Florida International University’s Research Institute on Social and Economic Policy. He also clerked for a private immigration office in Los Angeles
Adan graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with a Juris Doctor. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from University of California, Los Angeles. Adan is admitted to practice law in Florida.
