Amy Cheng

LVC Legal Assistant

Amy joined CAIR Coalition in 2019 as a year-long volunteer with Lutheran Volunteer Corps. She is a Legal Assistant with the Detained Adult Program, conducting direct representation support and legal research. Amy also works to provide free legal representation to immigrants under a universal representation model with various counties in Maryland and Virginia.

Prior to joining CAIR Coalition, Amy worked as a Social Service Coordinator in low-income, senior housing in Spokane, Washington. Amy holds a B.A. in Spanish and Peace Studies from Whitworth University. Previously, she has worked with immigrants at the San Diego-Mexico border right before a semester abroad in Cuba, where she studied Spanish and politics at the University of Havana.
