Ashley Warmeling, Esq.
Ashley joined CAIR in 2018 and serves as a staff attorney for adults held in immigration detention in Virginia and Maryland.
Prior to joining CAIR, Ashley was a staff attorney at Human Rights First, where she represented indigent asylum seekers in the DC-metro area. She previously completed a clerkship at the District of Columbia Superior Court. During law school, Ashley was a student attorney in the International Human Rights Law Clinic, where she represented asylum-seekers in removal proceedings. She also interned at the Fairfax County (VA) Public Defender's Office, DC Lawyers for Youth, American Civil Liberties Union, and the Legal Services Corporation. Prior to law school, she served as a Management and Program Analyst with the U.S. Department of Justice for four years.
Ashley completed a dual-degree program at American University, where she earned a M.A. in International Affairs from the School of International Service and a J.D. from the Washington College of Law.
