U Visa Success: Arnold & Porter Attorneys Refuse to Give Up

by Kathryn M. Doan, Esq.

american flag (wavy)More than two years ago, Arnold & Porter Associates Cara Koss and Emma Broomfield took on a U visa case through CAIR Coalition. Moved by his story, they vowed to do all they could to help their client, a victim of horrific childhood abuse, remain lawfully in the United States. Earlier this summer, they and their client were devastated to learn that United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) had denied their client’s U visa application. Undeterred, they submitted voluminous documentation to USCIS supporting reconsideration. As of today, their client has lawful status in the United States as a U visa recipient. All of us at CAIR Coalition are inspired by Cara and Emma’s dedication and perseverance.

Many thanks to Cara and Emma for their tireless work on this case, and to Arnold and Porter for its ongoing commitment to pro bono work.
