Lucia Walter

Direct Rep Legal Assistant

Prior to working with CAIR Coalition, Lucia worked as an investigator at Children's Law Center, a legal services nonprofit serving low-income and vulnerable children and families in the Washington, D.C. area. There, she assisted guardians ad litem in their representation of children in family court. 

During college, Lucia spent time in Amman, Jordan where she volunteered with organizations focused on promoting the social development of refugee children. As an intern in Quito, Ecuador, she led workshops on career and small business development. Lucia also served an eighteen-month church mission in the greater Tucson area of Arizona where she worked with members of Latinx immigrant communities.

Lucia received her BA in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic from Brigham Young University. She has a personal interest in studying topics related to children and youth affected by conflict and war.
